This wonderful old public house is possibly the best-known in Ireland. First licensed in 1690, this is one of Dublin’s oldest surviving coach houses. Its lively tradition continues today and the Cat and Cage has established itself as a great place for celebrating the epic Gaelic football games at nearby Croke Park. To match the drink and craic, you need good, hearty food and you’ll find none better than in the thriving upstairs restaurant.
