Irish folk music has a long standing tradition of politics, charity, and solidarity. Those traditions stand firm today and will see a number of folk acts and DJs take to the stage tonight in the Sugar Club aid of the Calais Refugee Solidarity Campaign.
The facebook event page reads:
The tragic events taking place in European ports right now cannot be ignored. Many within the Dublin community feel helpless with the situation and so to extend their support, raise aid and awareness, they are holding a night with music & various speakers from the Ireland Calais Refugee Solidarity Campaigns.
