Oysters and a pint of Guinness is one of the best snack drink-food combinations you can get, and we happen to do it particularly well in Ireland. Ryan’s on Parkgate street have now opened a special oyster bar in the 130 year old pub.
Their fresh oysters are sourced from Carlingford Lough and Lissadell in Co. Sligo. The oysters sit on display on a bed of crushed ice just behind some of their antique taps.
You can try the superb combo of Guinness and 3 oysters for €10.00, or you can go for a full half dozen for €12.50. The oyster bar is open Monday to Friday 3-10pm, Saturday 12 noon – 11pm, and Sunday 12 noon to 10pm. Usually it’s only a pack of crisps you can get after 9pm in a pub, but this place is really pushing the boat out with this offering.
