Over the last few months we’ve been taking speed tests whenever we’re in a pub. We’re trying to get an idea of the speeds that can be expected in some pubs around the city.
Given that there are hundreds of pubs around the city, we have only managed to capture the speeds of a few dozen. We hope that after reading this article, pubs will take speed tests and send the results in to us, to be added to this list. It could prove to be useful for those who like to go into a pub during the day to work over some lunch of a tea or coffee.
When conducting the speed tests we listed the date and time the test was done, as well as the download and upload results. We’ve also added other pertinent details, such as whether the test was taken in the main bar, function room, beer garden, or elsewhere.

You can take a speed test on your phone by downloading the ‘Speedtest’ app. Alternatively, you should be able to do it through your browser.
