The toastie is the perfect pub snack. It’s quick, it’s reasonably filling, it doesn’t break the bank, and, most crucially, it means you don’t have to leave the pub in search of sustenance.
We’ve written before about the best toasties in Dublin, but now we’ve got a selection that are paired with a pint at a lower price.
The Jug
The Jug is a new pub on Francis Street. On Tuesday’s they’re doing a toastie and a pint for €6.50.
Ned O’Shea’s Merchant
Ned’s sandwich is a bit of a step up from the regular toastie. In fact, it’s a club sandwich. You can pick one of these up with a pint for €10. It’s available 12-7pm Saturday and Sunday.
The Flowing Tide
The Flowing Tide on Abbey Street have a pint and toastie combo called ‘The Dave’. It’s named after one of their former barmen. It’s €6.50 for a toastie and pint of their house beer.
The Oak
The Oak is a beautiful, small pub on Dame Street. They’re doing a very appetising looking toastie and a pint for €8.50.
Mary’s
Mary’s on Wicklow Street do, for our money, the best toastie in the city. They have a toastie and a pint for €8.00 from Sunday to Thursday
