The Hill in Ranelagh have, for the last few months, had a pop up Asian restaurant in the pub every Sunday. The LuckyHappy Tortoise has been dishing out some fantastic Dim Sum, and this stuff is the real deal.

There’s no chicken balls, brown curry goop, or indigestion causing food here. This is all real, tasty Asian cuisine. They’ve just expanded their menu to include several new options.

You can try the full Dim Sum menu with sides for €20. That includes scallion pancakes, Laksa prawn and scallop siu mai, vegetable wontons, pork and chive dumplings, and 5 other options. The sides include lucky rice, tempura courgettes, kimchi, and pak choy. I think you’ll agree, that sounds like quite a feast.

They also have another ‘Messy eating’ section of the menu available. There’s Singapore crab, and amazingly sticky looking char siu back of ribs. You can get a half crab for €8 or a whole for €16. Half ribs are €5 and whole are €10.

There’s an excellent selection of beers available in The Hill as well, so I’m sure they can recommend something to go with your meal.

Email eat@luckytortoise.co or call (01) 497 6333 to book for Sunday.
