In the video for Phil Lynott’s ‘Old Town’ he visits some iconic Dublin locations, including the Ha’Penny Bridge, Howth Pier, the Stephen’s Green bandstand, and the quays.
He also pays a visit, in a more somber part of the song, to The Long Hall on George’s Street. He sits alone at the bar with a whiskey with water in it (or else it’s a double), lamenting the loss of his lover and how empty his home town feels without her.
The close up shot frames Phil between two of the pump taps that are still visible in the bar today, although they’re no longer used.
The section with the Long Hall starts at 1 minute 40 seconds.
