We’ve recently been very taken with Kavanagh’s on Aughrim Street in Stoneybatter. It’s a classic lounge and bar traditional pub with a very good beer garden (we’ll be covering that at a later time).
They’ve just unveiled their newly refurbished function room upstairs. Colour us surprised when we saw how comfy and unique it looks. Usually, pub function rooms favour floor space, small stools, and few tables. Kavanagh’s seem to have gone for a comfort factor in one part of the room at least.
There’s 2 opposing couches for a nice reclined seat, high stools at the bar, and some high tables.
The room appears to be quite bright, both in colour, and in terms of sunlight. This could be a good shout for anyone looking for a private party in the Stoneybatter area. There’s loads of great pubs around there, but not many of them have private rooms.
