Above the bustling pedestrian walkway of Dame Lane (which we think is one of the best concentrations of pubs in the city) is a spacious and open room for rent that would be a superb location for anyone’s Christmas party. It’s laid back, it’s comfy, and it opens late. We’re talking of course about The Loft upstairs in 4 Dame Lane.
Their website proclaims it to be one of the most popular private venues in Dublin, and it’s hard to disagree. Sure Michael D Higgins has even been here during his first presidential term!
The bar was renovated last year, so it’s likely to look different compared to the last time you saw it. If you’re looking to have a completely private experience, the venue has a private bar, entrance, and toilets.
The Loft can accommodate up to 250 people, making it very versatile in terms of its capacity and the type of function you want to hold here.
The seating ranges from high stool around raised tables, to laid back couches and brown leather chairs set back from candle lit tables. There’s a nice mix to the seating that means the space is laid out with different areas. You can sit down for a close chat or stand up in packs.
The high ceiling makes the venue feel more open and reverberates conversation around the room, giving it an atmosphere.
The Loft is open from Thursday to Sunday with DJ’s on Friday and Saturday. You can book private spaces in the venue or opt to book it out in its entirety.
