57 The Headline on Clanrassil Street have been champions of Irish beer, gin, whiskey, food, and more since day 1. This February they’re doing their part for Irish brewing by highlighting a local brewery for a week, celebrating what they have to offer in terms of range and taste.

Think of it as an extended tap takeover. Porterhouse brewing has in many ways led the way for craft beer in Ireland, offering their own beers at a time when it was very unusual for pubs to have anything but a very limited range. It was in 1996 when the Porterhouse pub first opened, selling their own beer and 2000 when they moved into a larger brewing space. We think of it as in or around 2010 when craft beer began to take off in Ireland, but it was the foundations laid by Porterhouse that helped to prove that there was a market out there for Irish beers.

The history and significance of the brewery and its importance to the brewing and pub industry is one element that The Headline is celebrating by holding Flagship February. The taste has to be good too! The Porterhouse range is diverse and award winning. Pints of Porterhouse Plain will be €5 for the duration.

Another good element of this event is that Porterhouse pints during this time goes towards their loyalty card programme. For every 10 bought you get another one free (over a period of time of course).

The Porterhouse will be participating from the 8th to the 15th of February, after which it will be Trouble Brewing’s turn with Ambush for €5. It’s sure to be a good one!
