Dublin is a city full of pubs, but some come into their own on a certain day or at a certain time. For The Den Bar on Baggot Street, that day is match day. The pub is on the way to the Aviva stadium for those coming from the city centre and offers a lot in terms of match day experience.

Outside The Den on a match day it’s a bit of a festival like atmosphere. They’ve got an outdoor bar, tables to stand around, food vendors to get you fed quickly, and even a big screen for watching the build up. There’s usually massive Guinness goal posts at the entrance to the grounds of the pub so you know you’re in a good spot for the rugby.

Inside there’s a grand big pub with lots of seating and a long bar, which makes it easier for more people to get served quickly. If it’s a cold day, there’s some seats beside a fire to keep you toasty before heading off to the Aviva or returning from a cold experience! There’s plenty of pubs with rugby paraphernalia on the walls, but did you know that this pub has the biggest collection of rugby ties in the world?

In advance of the Ireland v Wales game on Friday between 5 and 7, the pub will be holding a competition for people to win tickets to the games. There will be complementary finger food and live music, so get yourself down after work.
