Connollys, The Sheds

This Clontarf pub has been in the Connolly family since 1927. Over 80 years on and you still find three generations of the Connolly family working here. Connollys, is commonly known as The Sheds to locals.

The name ‘The Sheds’ refers back to the old fishing village of Clontarf and is just part of the rich heritage of this pub.

Granted its licence in 1845, its first owner was James Mooney, creator of the Mooney pub empire.

In 1882 John Clinton acquired the premises and in the Autumn  of 1927 Peter Connolly, a native of Monaghan bought ‘The Sheds’.

The Sheds pub has been providing locals with refreshments for over 150 years, and since November 2011, it has also been serving up a more novel form of entertainment, The Viking Theatre. The Viking Theatre hosts an exciting selection of performance, from plays and music to stand up comedy and more.
