What’s the story with pubs using bicycles as a decoration?

We’re not complaining or anything, but we’ve seen an awful lot of pubs recently who have bikes hanging on the walls or set up outside as a decoration. Is this a new trend that passed us by? I suppose it gives the place an antiquated charm.

Again, definitely not complaining, we just thought it was unusual to see so many of them.

We know that the one in Kavanaghs, The Gravediggers is a functioning bike and they use it to get to other local businesses. Most others are either up on the walls or chained outside.

There’s 2 bikes outside, with potted plants in their carriers an there’s also another mounted bike inside the pub.
