The Grafton Lounge is closing its doors. But there’s also plans for something new.

In a statement made yesterday on the bars facebook, it was announced that The Grafton Lounge would be closing its doors this weekend, with Saturday the 28th being the final night in GL. The announcement did, however, strike a positive note that the closure is because they are working on something new in the same location and in the Royal Hibernian Way in which they are located.

The bar has done great business for the 6 years that it has been open. Previously in the same location there was Cocoon, a bar once part owned by Formula One driver Eddie Irvine. The team that own and run The Grafton Lounge also run The Bridge 1859 in Ballsbridge with some Leinster and Ireland rugby players.

Grafton Lounge was well known as a good late night spot at the weekends and also did a decent food trade during the day. They played host to loads of private and corporate parties, including multiple fashion shows and trad events. Although Grafton Lounge will be missed, we’re quite sure that whatever they have in store for us will be just as impressive.
