We recently wrote an article about the beer garden in Delaneys on North King street. We had heard that it was decent, but only tried it out recently. The same now goes for The Glimmerman in Stoneybatter. We were familiar with the pub, but had never been in the beer garden.

Well, here’s a few photos to show that it is indeed quite a nice looking sun spot.

They make excellent use of reclaimed and repurposed furniture and other assorted knick knacks. We think the chair in the centre of the frame used to be the wheel of a horse cart. The flower boxes bring a bit of colour and life to the area as well.

They’ve also made use of an old vespa scooter as a decorative item that also seems to be holding up this table. There’s a good bit of seating around the outside at the wall.

The pub has a few cheap options on tap. Inside is as eclectically decorated as outside. They’ve got Maggie Thatcher and Charlie Haughey in a bed hanging from the ceiling for a start.

When we think of it, Stoneybatter/Smithfield does actually have quite a few places to sit out: The Glimmerman, he back of Mulligans, the backĀ  of O’Garas, Delaney’s beer garden, Oscars, Cobblestone beer garden, and a few other spots.
