Eamonn Rea’s on Parkgate Street has changed it’s name to ‘P. Duggan’s’. It’s still under the same ownership and management. They’ve just opted to change the name to put their own stamp on the bar.
Ger, who runs P. Duggan’s named the pub after his brother who passed away in 2008. It’s a lovely way to remember a lost sibling.
In a post on facebook they explained the name change and the plans for the future.
‘It is now official…..Eamonn Rea’s has gone through some changes over the past 2 years & the new name ‘P. Duggan’s’ sits proudly over the door. The name is after my brother Paul who sadly passed away in 2008 with my good friend Diarmuid, both of whom would have loved to have been part of this journey. A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has made it all possible. So much hard work by so many people to get to this stage and of course our loyal customers, who make this place a real gem of a pub. And we’re not finished yet….2018 will see a new kitchen opening and hopefully many more fun night’s that we can look forward to.’
We did a profile of Eamonn Rea’s earlier this year as part of a story on ‘Local’s pubs’ in the city. Link.
We wish them all the best and many years of success in the trade.
