The Hole in The Wall on Blackhorse Avenue is the longest pub in Ireland. They’ve got a gate right beside the pub giving easy access to the Phoenix Park, and they’re the closest pub to Áras an Uachtaráin, the President’s residence.

They celebrate this fact with ‘The President’s Snug’ to the left as you walk in. Above the walkway is a sign that reads ‘President’s Snug’. The snug is quite small and has maybe 3 or 4 high stool seats in it.

Along the wall of the snug is a sketch of each Irish president up to the present day.

It’s an interesting theme in a pub full of character.

Edit: Mother Publin informs us that she thinks it’s so called because Douglas Hyde and later Sean T O’Ceallaigh used to slip in for a quiet pint!
