For several years now The Barbers in Grangegorman have been running a quiz on Tuesday nights. By all accounts it’s a popular evening out in the pub for locals and those who can’t resist a good quiz.
The pub itself is a favourite of ours in any weather. It can legitimately be described as one of Dublin’s hidden gems (although it’s just around the corner from Smithfield). It’s got lots of cool and interesting seating areas, breaking the pub up into little zones that you and some friends can take over. The tables are also coincidentally divided up nicely so that teams of 4 can sit together with a table between them.
Another element making quiz night in The Barbers all the sweeter is the €6 gin and tonic specials they’ve become known for. They’re not finished there either. On quiz night they provide free nachos for anyone participating. And the quiz is free too! To us, that’s a cost effective and enlightening way to spend your Tuesday evening.
What’s more, the pub is dog friendly, so if you need to get out of the house and take the dog for a stretch, then maybe they might be of some use answering a few questions. “What is the designation for the top most point of a house or dwelling? Roof? Very good”.
So bring the dog, bring a team, bring a thirst, bring a hunger for nachos and get to The Barbers in Grangegorman for 8pm .
