The second episode of the Publin Podcast features the story of publican Sean Lynch, who was the second generation of the Lynch family to run the Swan pub on Aungier Street. Sean grew up with his family above the pub, learning the family trade. He also excelled at rugby and moved up the ranks from St Marys RFC, to Leinster, to international level with Ireland, and finally to play on the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand in 1971.
Sean was a full time publican as well as an international rugby player. This is the story of how he came to be part of Irish sporting history on that lions tour and how it shaped the history of the pub in its aftermath.
