There’ll be an incredible atmosphere in pubs all around the city centre for the European championships. Not only because Ireland are playing, but because of expats from other countries who will be cheering on their teams. A number of pubs are putting on special offers on food and drink during the matches. Here’s a selection of them.

McGowans- Free drinks
For every goal in McGowans they’re giving away free beer. Every time the underdog scores, men get a free pint. Every time the favourite scores, women get a free pint. You have to get a stamp and arrive before the start of the game. The free pints are Heineken and Bulmers flavours bottles.
Oscars- food and drink group deals
Oscars have some great deals for groups, including 2 pitchers of heineken, 2 pizzas, 2 chicken wings, and 2 fries for €50. They’ve also got pitchers of beer from €12.
JW Sweetman’s- Snack and a pint €10
Sweetman’s have a snack and a pint of their craft beer for €10 every day during the tournament. The snack from our prior experience is usually either chicken wings or pulled pork in a bap. They also have a special limited edition ‘Euro Gold’ beer for the euros for €5.70.
Cat and Cage- Pizza/wings and a pint €10
The Cat and Cage in Drumcondra are showing the Ireland games wiht a few deals. Get a pizza and a pint of Sweetman’s craft beer for €10,or wings and a pint for €10.
The Bankers- Burger and a pint €8.00
Disregard the mention of the World Cup. It’s the same deal.
The Bankers on Dame Lane have a great offer running during the euros to keep you fed. It’s a quick and tasty burger and a pint of Heineken or bottle of sol for €8.
Slatterys- €100 bar tab for €50
Slatterys in Beggars Bush have a really good deal that they offer for big games, and they’re offering it all throguh the euros. You reserve a table for up to 6 people, pay €50, and get a €100 bar tab. It’s all done through table service, so you don’t even have to get up. For more details and to book, follow this link.

During the Ireland games they take 50 cent off the price of Galway Bay Beer pints every time we score. In other games, they take 50 cent off when the number on the scorers shirt corresponds with the tap number. The latter only applies to The Beer Market.

They’ve got a screen outside, but it’s a better viewing experience downstairs.

The Jar- Free pint when Ireland score against Sweden
They’ve gone all out with their decorations in The Jar on Wexford street and they’ll be be giving away a free pint every time Ireland score against Sweden.
East Side Tavern- Beer and wings €10
East Side Tavern on Leeson street has 2 large flat screen TVs and will be doing wings and a pint for €10.
Davy Byrnes- Free pint if Ireland score
If you buy a pint of Heineken in Davy Byrnes you’ll get a yellow or red card. The next time there’s an Ireland match on and you’re in there, you get a free pint of Heineken with your yellow card if Ireland score in the first half, or a free pint with your red card if Ireland score in the second half. At least that’s our understanding of it.
The Czech Inn- Pizza or burger and a pint €10.
The Czech Inn will be a great place to watch all Czech republic games. They’ve got a pizza or football burger and a pint for €10, as well as a number of specials on pitchers.
